The Cumberland County Department of Social Services is always looking for ways to enhance the quality of service provided to our citizens. One of the ways is to assist in this area is to provide services in neighborhoods and communities. We understand  how difficult it may be at times to come in to the DSS Main office for an appointment because of transportation or child care problems

• We offer Food Stamp Recertification Appointments.
•  Social Worker(s) are available to answer questions.
•  Client’s  requests  for additional  services welcome.

During the first week of each month we visit the Neighborhood Resource Centers. Families scheduled for review who live in the area of each Resource Center will be mailed an appointment letter letting them know the date and time DSS will be at a Resource Center in their area. Flyers are posted at local grocery stores, cleaners, and Quick Stops as reminders. We encourage families to attend sites for quicker service.
