FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Cumberland County, in partnership with the City of Fayetteville and community partners, will open a White Flag Shelter and designated warming centers in response to expected below-freezing temperatures.
The weather is forecasted to meet the criteria for opening warming centers and activating the White Flag shelter during the listed dates. The following locations will be open:
JAN. 3 - WHITE FLAG SHELTER
Cornerstone Christian Empowerment Center

Hours: 6 p.m. - 8 a.m. (Intake 5:30 - 9 p.m.)

Transportation: Shuttle service to and from the Fayetteville Cares Day Resource Center, 128 S. King St.

Cliffdale Regional, Headquarters, Hope Mills Community and North Regional libraries will open as warming centers.

Hours: Sunday, 2 - 6 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to check on neighbors, older adults and individuals without reliable heat. Pets should also be brought indoors during freezing temperatures.
